Week 6

5th and 6th Hours:

I had to leave school early today. I expect you to be on your best behavior. If your name gets left by the substitute, you can expect a referral when I return on Monday.

The substitute will announce missing work, but be sure to check Infinite Campus. If your H Drive doesn’t show up when you log-in, restart your computer and it should show up after that.

Today is the last day that you will be with your current partner. Today is a catch up day. Check Infinite Campus to check your grade and if there are any assignments from my class that don’t have a grade. If you have any assignment that doesn’t have a grade listed, that means I don’t have it. The main assignment that I’m missing from groups is the MO Scavenger Hunt and Missouri Timeline.

After you have everything finished, I want you to read this document.  Spook Light Feedback      It talks a little more about the Joplin Spooklight and it talks about a major consequence of mining in Southwest Missouri.

When you are finished with all of your work, you are allowed to:

We will have a test over states and capitals in about 3-4 weeks. You might want to go ahead and start studying those!

Here’s a few websites you can use to start practicing those:

Link 1: There’s a large variety of resources at this website. You can start off on the “Beginner” levels and try to work your way up to “Advanced”. They have games that allow you to practice identifying states on a map and they have games that have you match states with capitals.

Link 2: You will want to be a little familiar with a US Map before you visit this link. You have to place the correct state name on the correct state. It has a timer so you can do this multiple times to see if you can beat your previous high score. You may also look around on this website because it has other state, capital, and postal abbreviation games.

Link 3: This website shows you a state on a map and you have to select what the capital is.
