My Information

My planning period is 7th Hour (2:20-3:10). My classroom phone # is (417) 359-7050 ext. 18145. The easiest way to get a hold of me is to send me an email: osbornej@carthagetigers.org

Here is the Junior High Website. You can get school announcements and access other teacher websites from here.

I am available for tutoring each morning at 7:30. The only times that is not the case, is during weeks that I have bus duty.

This Class

This class is set up differently than the other classes that your child takes. There is a 2:1 student to computer ratio in my room so they work with a partner. They are assigned new partners every 2 weeks. All assignments are completed on the computer. Students are given plenty of time to finish assignments, but if they are unable to finish during class time they will need to either do the assignment at home or make arrangements to finish in Tiger Den. Assignments are almost always due on Fridays. I don’t count them late until the following Friday in case a student needs to make arrangements to finish their work.

This is a copy of the document with classroom rules that students received in the first couple of days in this class. General classroom rules and procedures are covered in this document: Class Procedures

Our Classroom Use Policy can be found here: Classroom Use Policy

These are the Classroom Partnering Norms that were adopted by my classes for this Fall Semester: Partnering Norms Students created and discussed the Partnering Norms that we use for this class.

Homework

Sometimes I get asked how can students access their work from home. Our district has software on our district webpage that allows students to access all of their school drives from home. I put together a PowerPoint that shows you how to log into school accounts from home. You can get those directions from this document:  Virtual Desktop

I know that Jr. High can be a pretty big transition for many students. If you want some tips on how to help your child with their homework, you can go to this website. It is a website that was created by the United States Department of Education.
