Week 4

Middle East Quiz

Today you are taking an open note quiz. You are allowed to work with your partner to use anything off of my website, anything I’ve given to you in Google Classroom, and any assignments you have finished. You are not allowed to search the internet using Google or other internet resources!

Here is a link to the quiz.

Your username is your first name, your last name, 306. There are no commas and no spaces. For example, my username would be:  jacobosborne306

Yours should look exactly like that except you will insert your first and last name instead of mine.

You must use your official school name. For example, if your name is William, but you go by Will, you must use your proper name William.

If you have 2 last names make sure you use both last names on your log-in. For example: If your name is Jose Reyes-Lopez, you would need to put josereyeslopez306.

Your password is your Mosis #.

Whenever you finish your test press “Submit”. You don’t have to tell me or show me your score. I have access to all of the scores.

Week 4

Catch Up Day

Today is your last full class with your current partner. I will announce missing assignments from this rotation and you will have the entire hour to work on them. Tomorrow we have an open notes quiz.

Week 4

That’s My Land

Today you are going to do a simulation activity. I will explain the activity to you, but you can get it from here: That’s My Land Go ahead and open it up.

After you and your partner finish dividing your land, be ready to have your map pulled up on your screen and wait for other’s to get done.

Week 4

Basics of Judaism

You have 2 short assignments today. This week we are going to learn about Israel. To get a better understanding of Israel you need to have a basic knowledge of their beliefs. The first assignment you need to do today is the Basics of Judaism. It can be found in Google Classroom.

Israel/Palestine

After you finish the Basics of Judaism you are going to learn about Israel and Palestine. Their history is complicated. Their is more depth to it than what I present, but I tried to give you the basics of it so you could understand why there is constant conflict here. This assignment is also found in Google Classroom.

Week 3

Review

The first thing we will do is a quick review. Click this link

Sorting Assignment

You will not have a unit test over the Middle East. Instead you are going to work on a sorting assignment. This is worth 40 points and it covers what we have discussed over the past few weeks.

1. Go to Google Classroom and open the assignment: Middle East Sorting.

2. You need to cut and paste each of the text boxes that are in the last 3 slides, onto the correct slide.

To cut, click inside the box with the text>move your mouse to sit on one of the borders of the box (it should change from a cursor to an arrow going 4 different directions)>right click your mouse>click cut

To Paste, go to the slide you believe is the correct slide it goes with>right click> select one of the first 2 options

3. Whenever you finish, there shouldn’t be any text boxes left on the last 3 slides because they should be pasted onto the correct country or religion. There are 40 boxes.

4. To help give you some direction, this is how many text boxes should be on each slide whenever you are finished (starting with slide 1-Iraq)

-Immigrants

-Kurds

-ISIS

-Taliban

-Palestinians (PLO)

-Ayatollah Khomeini

Later this semester I will teach you the Do’s and Don’ts of Google Slides/PowerPoint.
