Closing Out

Today is the last day that you will have this class. I hope that you have a new comfort level in dealing with technology. Next semester your World Geography class will be taught using more traditional methods.

I’m very impressed with how well you did this semester. You did a great job of taking the added responsibility that this class was designed to give you. Each semester keeps getting better and better.

Extra Time

Today (1st, 3rd, 5th, and 6th Hours)

Almost all assignments are now turned in! If you still have anything missing, you need to work on that. If you have everything turned in, you need to click on this link and wait for me to give you the PIN #. 

2nd and 4th Hours

Most students in both of these classes have missing work they need to finish. Those of you who are finished can still play a game that is similar to kahoot. Visit this link.

I will have 2 games available for you. The winner will receive a reward tomorrow. 2 Rules though:

1. Use your real names or at least have them in parenthesis so I know who to give prizes to for winning.
2. You only get 1 attempt per group.

Today

The first thing I want you to do today is Check Infinite Campus to make sure that you have a grade for every assignment for this class. If there are any assignments that you don’t have a grade, that means I never received it from you. You aren’t allowed to make up any 1st quarter assignments. If there is any work that doesn’t get turned in by the end of this week, it will be a zero. If you have a grade for every assignment, that means all of your work for this class is complete.

If Everything’s Finished

If you have all assignments finished you may:

-Work on homework from another class

-Read a book

-Visit class links or Google Earth

-Watch episodes of Mythbusters. I put a few episodes in the Christmas folder.

Missing Assignments

All missing work is due by this Friday! The semester ends on Friday and whenever you come back from break, you will be switching to a new World Geography class. Check Infinite Campus to make sure you have all of your assignments turned in. If you have anything missing, work on it today.

Extra Credit

Today’s assignment is OPTIONAL. I would advise everybody to do it though because it is worth 30 points Extra Credit. That’s quite a bit. There are 15 questions that are worth 2 points a piece. We’ve covered a few of these questions, but most of them are new material so you are allowed to use the internet. They all have something to do with Geography. You and your partner will work together and only do the assignment once. You will both earn the same score.

You will use the same website you use for Common Assessments to complete this assignment. Click on this link to do the assignment.

Yours should look exactly like that except you will insert your first and last name instead of mine.

After You’re Finished

Since we are working on missing assignments today and tomorrow, I posted some Mythbuster episodes in the Christmas folder if you have everything finished. Double check Infinite Campus to make sure you have everything done first.

Latin America Maps

Most students still need to finish their Latin America Maps. If you think you’ve already turned it in, check Infinite Campus to make sure that you did. Also, check to see if there’s any other assignments you don’t have a grade for. Work on anything that you have that is missing. If you have everything turned in already, you may:

2. Work on homework from another class
3. Visit Class Links/Google Earth

SLO Post Test

Today you are going to take your SLO Post Test. Take your time. This is your only assignment today and it is for a grade. It is worth 40 points. All of the answers are in the test if you know how to read the charts and maps.

You can access the test here.

SLO Post Test

Tomorrow we will meet in the Media Center so you can take your SLO Post Test. This is for a grade!

I will give you about 1/2 of the hour to either finish your SLO assignment from Tuesday or to finish the Latin America Scavenger Hunt (I’m still missing a fair amount of these). I don’t think that hardly anybody finished the LA Map assignment from yesterday. I want you to work on the Climograph Practice before you work on your LA MAP assignment. You will get more time for this. You can find the Climograph Practice Assignment here: Climograph Practice You don’t have to use complete sentences or turn this one in. The last part of class, we will review a little bit for the SLO Test.

Priority for Assignments

Here is the order that I want you to have things completed in:

1. SLO Practice Assignment (From Tuesday)
2. Latin America Scavenger Hunt (From last Friday and this Monday)
3. Climograph Practice (From Today)
4. If you still have time, work on the Latin America Map Assignment (From yesterday)

SLO Assignment

Everyone is starting a new assignment today. Even if you aren’t finished with the LA Scavenger Hunt, I want you to go ahead and move onto this. Friday we are going to take our SLO Post Test. You already took this test at the beginning of the school year. It had a lot of maps, charts, and graphs on it. The first time you took it, you didn’t get a grade for it. This time you will.

Today you are going to do an assignment that has several questions that are very similar to what you will see on Wednesday. All of the questions focus on maps from Latin America.
