Week 6

Latin America Map

If you have not finished your map yet, you are a little bit behind schedule. Finish that first and then move onto today’s assignment.

Landform Vocabulary

In a couple of days we will start a project that will take a few weeks. It will be an assignment that is worth quite a few points. Today’s assignment will help you with that project.

This assignment is very similar to the population assignment where you did the vocabulary PowerPoint. You have to find a definition and a picture for each word. This lesson focuses on different types of landforms. There are a lot of words that I’m wanting you to find so you will have 2 days to work on this. Get your assignment from Google Classroom.

Use google or search inside of slides to find pictures for each of the landforms.

Week 5

Packets

If you have any questions about your work packets, don’t hesitate to email me: osbornej@carthagetigers.org

When we return to class, you will be required to turn in your packet. That means you should answer the 10 questions that go along with the reading and do the word search. This will be for a grade.

Have a great Thanksgiving!

Week 4

Latin America Map

Very few students have finished this assignment so far, so today you need to finish working on the map and turn it into Google Classroom.

If you don’t remember what Central America is, go back to the Latin America Scavenger Hunt assignment and it is explained there.

Same tips/reminders as yesterday:

***Remember, don’t use the color blue to fill in a country. Blue is used for water on maps.***

***Also, don’t forget to label the Central American countries that are on the list. Those will be placed on the first map.***

Landform Vocabulary

A few days after we get back from break, we will start a project that will take a couple of weeks. It will be an assignment that is worth quite a few points. Today’s assignment will help you with that project. You will come back to this assignment multiple times and it will help you out a lot.

Week 4

SLO Post Test

Today you are going to take your SLO Post Test. Take your time. This is your only assignment today and it is for a grade. It is worth 40 points. All of the answers are in the test if you know how to read the charts and maps.

You can access the test here.

Your username is your first name, your last name, 306     There are no commas and no spaces. For example, my username would be:  jacobosborne306

Yours should look exactly like that except you will insert your first and last name instead of mine.

You must use your official school name. For example, if your name is William, but you go by Will, you must use your proper name William.

If you have 2 last names make sure you use both last names on your log-in. For example: If your name is Jose Reyes-Lopez, you would need to put josereyeslopez306.

Your password is your Mosis #.

Whenever you finish your test press “Submit”. You don’t have to tell me or show me your score. I have access to all of the scores.

The “Secret Word” is:    slo2

Week 4

Latin America Map

Today’s assignment deals with Latin America maps. You will learn a new skill in Word to complete this assignment. You will need to watch 2 videos in Google Classroom. This is also where you will turn the assignment in whenever you finish.

The document for your assignment can be found here: Mapping Latin America  Make sure you map all of the countries the directions tell you to. Don’t forget to map the Central American countries too.

Since this is the first time we’ve colored a map in this class I need to let you know that you need to stay away from the color blue whenever you color maps. Blue is generally associated with water so don’t use it on the countries.

When you finish the assignment, make sure  you save it to your H Drive. You won’t have time to finish this today.

***Remember, don’t use the color blue to fill in a country. Blue is used for water on maps.***

***Also, don’t forget to label the Central American countries that are on the list. Those will be placed on the first map.***

Week 4

SLO Post Test

Thursday we will meet in the Lab next door (149) so you can take your SLO Post Test. This is for a grade!

I will give you about half the class to finish the Latin America SLO from friday and to finish a new Climograph Practice Assignment. You can find the Climograph Practice Assignment here: Climograph Practice You don’t have to use complete sentences or turn this one in. After you finish this, we will review for Thursday’s SLO Test as a class.

Week 4

Finish Climographs and Latin America Scavenger Hunt

Some of you still need to finish these assignments from last week. Finish these before moving onto the SLO assignment.

SLO Assignment

Thursday we are going to take our SLO Post Test. You already took this exact test at the beginning of the school year. It had a lot of maps, charts, and graphs on it. The first time you took it, you didn’t get a grade for it. This time you will.

Today you are going to do an assignment that has several questions that are very similar to what you will see on Wednesday. All of the questions focus on maps from Latin America.

Your assignment is located at Google Classroom.

Week 3

Latin America

If you have Spanish Class either this year or next year, this part of the world is covered in great detail. Since so many students have Spanish at some point in the Jr. High, we don’t spend very much time on it in this class.

After you finish and turn in the Climograph Assignment, you will work on the Latin American Scavenger Hunt. To access this document, go to Google Classroom.

When answering questions, remember that we always use American Units for measuring: miles, feet, etc.

Also, don’t forget to use complete sentences in your answers.

Week 3

Climographs

I only had a couple groups finish this assignment yesterday. The goal that I have is for everyone to finish this and turn it in today.

If Finished

If you are finished, you may play Cool Math today.  We will begin a new assignment tomorrow.
