Week 2

Today is a catch up day. I have a couple of things I want to go over with you and then you will have the rest of the hour to work on missing assignments. I will go over what students are missing work. If you think you have all of your assignments finished, you can check for yourself. If you go to page 25 of your planner, it tells you how to log onto Infinite Campus. You can see what assignments are missing and you can check your grades. If you ever have an assignment from me that doesn’t have a grade for you, that means I never received it.

Whenever you are finished with all of your assignments you have 3 options:

1. Read a book

2. Work on homework from another class

3. Visit class links on my website or Google Earth on the desktop

Week 2

If you didn’t finish yesterday’s assignment, finish that first. You should already be finished with it. If you aren’t, you are behind. You need to work a little harder and a little faster today so you can catch up.

Today’s lesson will go a little deeper into what you’ve looked at the last 2 days in class. You need to click on this link and go through all of the pages on this website. It’s an interactive website that talks about maps, hemispheres, and absolute location.

After you go through all of the slides on the website above, you need to download and complete this assignment:  Absolute and Relative Location

Whenever you finish, save it and turn it in.

Week 2

Continue working on the assignment from yesterday. You should finish it today.

Whenever you save it, make sure it’s in your H Drive (MOSIS number) and in this format:

After you save, turn it in.

Whenever you are finished with this assignment and if you have all other assignments finished and turned in, you may:

1. Read a book

2. Work on homework from another class

3. Visit my class links or Google Earth on the desktop

Week 2

Next week we will finally be able to get into real world geography lessons where we will start talking about specific places around the world. Next Tuesday we will start talking about Carthage.

Before we can do that, we still have some basics to touch on. So far we’ve learned how to properly save, how to turn in assignments, how to properly search using Google, and how to use our textbooks. Before we can start talking about specific places, I need to be sure that everyone is familiar with some basic geographic concepts. Over the next few days we are going to cover section 1 from the textbook so we can make sure that everyone in class understands some of the core basics that we will use the entire semester.

You will use the textbook. You can either grab a textbook off of the shelf or you can access the online book. You need to download the assignment here:   Core Concepts Part 1  At the top of this page is a link to the textbook log-in. To access that link from Word, press “Ctrl” on you keyboard and click the link with your mouse.

Read and follow the directions.

You likely won’t finish the assignment today. Whenever you save it, make sure it’s in your H Drive (MOSIS number) and in this format:

Week 2

Today will be the last day you have assigned class time to work on your Get to Know Your Textbook assignment. Tomorrow we are moving onto something else. Most of you are really doing a great job. You’ve been following directions well and you’ve been working very hard. There are some groups that need to pick up the pace a little bit and work faster. Make sure you are staying on task and not wasting any time.

Make sure you are saving properly. I’ve already had multiple students today, have to start over because they didn’t save to their H drive (MOSIS number). Always save to your H drive!

If you are able to finish it, turn it in after you save it.

Week 1

You need to open your Google Search questions from yesterday. I will give you 10-15 minutes to work on them. Then we will go over them as a class and I will give you tips on how to more effectively use Google.

I do not want you to submit this file to me.

Week 1

Yesterday you should have finished and turned in you questionnaire survey. If you didn’t finish it, I want you to go ahead and finish that assignment and turn it in.

Whenever you are finished you need to work on the Google Search assignment. I posted a link for you to download in yesterday’s post. You can also download it here: Google Search You will have the whole class period today and about 15 minutes tomorrow. Then we will go over it together as a class on Wednesday and I will give tips on how to be more effective using Google.

Week 1

Today is your first assignment. I am mainly wanting you to learn how to save correctly and how to turn assignments in. You will be graded on whether you turned the assignment in correctly and how well you followed the instructions.

Click on this link:  World Geography Questionnaire   You will do this assignment on this document. Make sure you read the directions!

Here is a finished sample for this assignment: Sample World Geography Questionnaire  You will want to look at this so you can see what your finished assignment should look like.
