I am gone again today. I will be back tomorrow. Make sure you are on your very best behavior for the sub today. Please monitor yourselves and make sure that you don’t get too loud for them.
Island Project
Continue working on the Island Project. Most students are still working on Step #2 (Storyboard). If you are working on Step #3 (Creating the Map on blank white paper) read the directions I posted on Tuesday. Make sure you use your best handwriting/coloring so you can get all of your neatness points.
Creating the Commercial
For this part of the project you are going to use Adobe Spark.
To get Logged-in:
- Click Log-in in the upper right hand corner.
- Click “Continue with Google”
- Type in your normal Google username and password just like you are signing into Google Classroom
After you get logged-in, watch the Tutorial Video that shows you how to use the program. You can access that video at: Google Drive>Team Drives>Osborne>Computer Tutorials>Spark Tutorial
*I will give you access to the digital camera whenever I return tomorrow. Skip this step today and you can do it tomorrow.
*To record your voice, you will need to use special headphones. Ask the substitute for a pair and they will let you borrow some. These headphones are a little bit different:
-To get them to work, plug them into your USB Port at the front of your computer.
-Make sure the microphone is closer to your chin than it is to your nose. If you have it too close to your nose, it’ll pick up a lot breathing noises.
*When you add narration, wait one second after you press the record button before you begin talking and then hold the record button one extra second after you finish speaking so your picture stays on the screen a little bit longer.
Pictures
You will get most of your pictures from Adobe. Whenever you watch the Tutorial video, it shows you how to get pictures from Adobe. Those pictures are Open Source.
If there is a picture/landform that you are having trouble finding in Adobe, you can use this link which is a website called Creative Commons.
To use Creative Commons, Type the word(s) you want to search for. Then click on Google Images. Then it will take you to pictures from Google Images that are all Open Source. When you find the picture you want to use, right-click on it and select “save image as” then save it to your H Drive.
